Wallace The Dragon

There lived a great big dragon, in the town of Wingdonville.  His name was Wallace Skeeterbop, he ran an office down the hill.

A dragon, you’d think might be fierce and grumpy…But not our Wallace, he was soft and frumpy.

He longed to be a superhero, dashing knight or dazzling prince. Not a scaly, scary Dragon with fiery lungs and strong breath mints.

You see, Wallace was so gentle. His heart was soft and friendly. Yet when the children spotted him they ran in such a frenzy.

At his desk in his small office, with his brown work shoes and little tie, Wallace wondered how he’d show the world that he was really a top guy!

He sat and stapled papers, looking out towards the town, where far above the hilltop sat the royal castle ground.

Suddenly he heard a yell. Loud commotion on the street. WOOSH skidding past at rocket speed shot the Queen and her royal fleet.

"She’s on the loose!"

"The wheels are spinning!"

"Her horse has bolted free!"

"The driver of the carriage is now stuck high up in a tree!"

SWOOSH! Wallace leapt from his office desk, his dragon wings spread wide and proud, and with an elegant loop-de-loop, the dragon glides over the crowd.

"Hop onto my nose, your Majesty! I’ll fly you safe from here." As she dangled from the window-ledge, pearls pinging in the air.

“Don’t fret, your Highness!” Wallace roared.

Queenie's sparkling cape did flutter.

She swung from the booth, crown tipped on her head and she landed without a splutter.

WOWEEE, they soared above the clouds, peering down upon the scene.

The local neighbours moved around like tiny jumping beans.

KAPOW!

BANG!

CRASH!

The carriage snapped up into little pieces. Its wheels rolled out, its cushions popped, feathers floated like wooly fleeces.

Then Wallace and Queenie sailed on down and landed on the lawn.

Every person in town rushed to their side celebrating with cheers and horns.

“Thank you, dear Dragon!" The Queen exclaimed.

"I cannot thank you more. Perhaps I throw a festival? We need something that says PHWOAR!”

So later on at sundown, dressed in his sparkliest suit, Wallace climbs to the castle on the hill leaving behind his old brown boots.

Under the magical rainbow gates, through the glowing golden doors, there rings welcome cheers, festivities and celebratory roars!

Wallace the sparkliest dragon with a new bold lease for life was honoured by the Queen that night, oh how he partied with such delight!

And at the end, before home time, the Queen whispered in his ear, a proposal for a brand new job...would you also like to hear?

"I need your skills and kindness, you're the dragon for the job, I need a secret service agent to protect me from

…THE MOB!"
